SSBMT3 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament held on September 28th, 2003 in Toulouse, France. Despite being the third installment of the SSBMT series, SSBMT3 stands as the oldest documented Melee tournament in France to use a traditional, albeit single-elimination, one versus one bracket format, due to SSBMT being a free-for-all tournament until Grand Finals, and SSBMT2 being a doubles tournament.
Format[edit]
The tournament began with a best of 3 Pools phase. Top 8 advanced to a best of 5 double-elimination bracket, with the Grand Finals set being best of 7. A tiebreaker set was played for 3rd, and a Pool phase was played among those who placed 5th in order to round out the Top 8.
