*Dr. Mario
*Dr. Mario

Due to these characters being at least pseudo-clones of each other in each Smash game, they can be collectively referred to together, in a vein similar to the Star Fox characters being collectively referred to as the spacies. The term originates simply from Mario and Luigi being plumbers by occupation, while Dr. Mario gets grouped in for convenience. Referring to them collectively as their canonical name, the "Mario Bros.", is also sometimes used, especially with casual players, but is much less common with competitive players due to being more of a mouthful to say and "Mario Bro" being awkward for singular use cases. Alternatively, when referring to Mario and Dr. Mario together but not Luigi, due to the two being much closer clones to each other than they are to Luigi, calling them the "Marios" is used.
