The '''Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller''' is a [[controller]] designed exclusively for use with the [[Nintendo Switch 2]] console. As its name suggests, it is an upgraded version of the [[Nintendo Switch Pro Controller]].

The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller has a similar size and shape to its predecessor, including the exact same button layout, but has a more refined build. The controller also uses HD Rumble 2, a more sophisticated upgrade to HD Rumble that can create even more subtle and precise sensations. New features include a [[C button]] that can be used to instantly activate the Nintendo Switch 2 console's built-in GameChat feature, as well as [[GL button|GL]] and [[GR button|GR]] back buttons that can be freely mapped to any other button via the console's Quick Options menu. A CTIA audio jack is also present on the bottom of the controller. The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller also has the ability to wake a Nintendo Switch 2 console from sleep mode via its [[Home button]], unlike the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller which cannot wake the console from sleep mode.

==Compatibility==
Officially, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is only compatible with Nintendo Switch 2 and cannot be used on [[Nintendo Switch]]. The controller's Bluetooth connectivity, however, does allows it to connect to other devices and unofficially be used as a controller for compatible games, though additional drivers may need to be installed for a smooth experience. Compared to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller has weaker overall compatibility with PCs.

In ''Ultimate'', the buttons on the controller can be remapped in the [[Controls]] menu to perform other functions. At launch, every button on the controller can be remapped via the system's settings, further diversifying its customizability.

As ''Ultimate'' has yet to receive any update that properly takes advantage of the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, the game treats the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller as a standard Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

==In competitive play==
As the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is similar to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, its competitive reputation is relatively similar as well. That being said, some of its design changes, most notably the GL and GR buttons, make this controller more attractive to use over its predecessor for some. However, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller can only be used on Nintendo Switch 2 and is incompatible with Nintendo Switch, limiting its usage to tournaments that run ''Ultimate'' on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
