'''Kanto''' is a fictional region that appears in the [[Pokémon universe]]. The Kanto region houses the original 151 Pokémon plus various other Pokémon in the future games, and is also where Ash and his friends venture through for the original Pokémon anime series. The handheld games ''[[Pokémon Red &  Blue]]'', ''[[Pokémon Gold & Silver]]'', and ''[[Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen]]'' all take place in Kanto.

The Kanto region has also played a part in the ''Super Smash Brothers''. All of the Pokémon in ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]'' and most of the Pokémon in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' come from the Kanto region. Additionally, Pokémon-themed stages in the ''Super Smash Bros.'' series take place in Kanto.  These stages are as follows: [[Saffron City]] (from ''[[Super Smash Bros.]]''); [[Pokémon Stadium]], [[Poké Floats]] (both from ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', although the latter is technically designated as being located in "Kanto Skies").
