'''Giratina''' ({{ja|ギラティナ|Giratina}}, ''Giratina'') is a creature from the {{uv|Pokémon}} series.

 

Giratina is a Ghost/Dragon-type {{iw|bulbapedia|Legendary Pokémon}} introduced in Generation IV, and is a member of the {{iw|bulbapedia|Pokémon of Myth}} of Sinnoh along with [[Dialga]] and [[Palkia]]. It is the {{iw|bulbapedia|version mascot}} of ''{{iw|bulbapedia|Pokémon Platinum}}'', and is categorized within the Pokédex at #487 as the "Renegade Pokémon". Giratina represents antimatter, and lives in the {{s|bulbapedia|Distortion World}}. It has two {{iw|bulbapedia|Forme}}s: the Origin Forme, which it can assume only in the Distortion World or when holding a {{iw|bulbapedia|Griseous Orb}} (''Platinum'' to ''{{iw|bulbapedia|Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl}}'') or {{iw|bulbapedia|Griseous Core}} (''{{s|bulbapedia|Pokémon Legends: Arceus}}'' onwards), and the Altered Forme, under which it appears in ''[[SSB4]]''. In ''Pokémon Platinum'', it takes the role held by Dialga/Palkia in ''Pokémon Diamond/Pearl'' respectively: {{iw|bulbapedia|Team Galactic}} attempts to use its power to recreate the universe with {{iw|bulbapedia|Cyrus}} as a ruler; after defeating Cyrus in the {{iw|bulbapedia|Distortion World}} the player has a chance to catch Giratina.

 

{{iw|bulbapedia|Dragon Breath|move}} is a Dragon-type Special move with 60 base power and 100% accuracy which has a 30% chance of inflicting the Paralysis status on the target. Giratina knows this move by default at level 1.

===As a Poké Ball Pokémon===

Giratina's Altered Forme appears in ''[[Super Smash Bros. 4]]'' as a [[Poké Ball]] and [[Master Ball]] summon. When summoned it attacks three times, breathing out a large vortex which damages enemies for 2% while carrying them away, similarly to [[Mario Finale]]. It can turn around before attacking if no enemies are in front of it. Touching Giratina's body deals 12% damage with weak diagonal knockback.

Giratina cannot be summoned on [[Balloon Fight]], [[Brinstar]], [[Corneria]], [[Dream Land GB]], [[Golden Plains]], [[Green Hill Zone]], [[Jungle Japes]], [[Living Room]], [[Mute City SNES]], [[Reset Bomb Forest]], [[Suzaku Castle]], [[Tomodachi Life]], [[Tortimer Island]], [[WarioWare Inc.]], or [[Yoshi's Island]].

 

Giratina (Altered Forme)'s Spirit Battle uses a Giant {{SSBU|Mr. Game & Watch}} puppet fighter and is fought on the [[Spear Pillar]] stage. During the battle, Giratina is summoned while the screen flips upside down, referencing the {{iw|bulbapedia|Distortion World}}, an alternate dimension that disobeys the laws of physics, and accessible only in ''Pokémon Platinum''.

 

Giratina (Origin Forme) can be obtained by [[enhanceable spirit|enhancing]] the Giratina (Altered Forme) spirit at level 99.
