==Origin==
Fennekin, along with [[Chespin]] and {{pkmn|Froakie}}, first appeared in ''{{s|bulbapedia|Pokémon X and Y}}'' as a {{s|bulbapedia|starter Pokémon}} of the {{s|bulbapedia|Kalos}} Region, and is categorized within the Pokédex at #653 as the "Fox Pokémon". It evolves into {{pkmn|Braixen}} at level 16 and into {{pkmn|Delphox}} at level 36. Upon evolving into Delphox, it gains Psychic as its secondary type, and can access its then-signature move {{s|bulbapedia|Mystical Fire|move}}, a Fire-type attack that damages the target and lowers the target's special attack stat one stage. Fennekin is capable of learning Incinerate via TM59.

{{s|bulbapedia|Incinerate|move}} is a Fire-type move introduced in {{iw|bulbapedia|Generation V}}. While weak, it has the ability to destroy [[bulbapedia:Berry|Berries]] and {{iw|bulbapedia|Gem}}s held by its targets, and can hit all adjacent opponents in double and triple battles. Fennekin can learn it via {{iw|bulbapedia|TM59}} in Generation VI.

Fennekin makes its debut in ''Super Smash Bros.'' as a [[Poké Ball]] Pokémon in this installment. It uses {{iw|bulbapedia|Incinerate|move}} to attack opponents, which manifests as a fireball attack similar to [[Ness]]'s [[PK Fire]]. Unlike PK Fire, it does not need to hit an opponent to create a pillar of fire. After each use of Incinerate it will turn around. It will randomly fire at an angle between 5°-25° downwards, causing it to sometimes land near Fennekin or far away. Incinerate will deal 3% if the shot makes contact with the opponent and then 2% every 9 frames (0.15 seconds).
