*The event is similar in concept to [[Event 51: The Showdown]], both of which are their respective game's final single-player event involving a fight against two regular characters and a large overpowered one on Final Destination. Additionally, they have the same Japanese name.
*Mario and Sonic are both mascots of their video game companies; which are [[Nintendo]] and [[Sega]] respectively, while Snake is one of [[Konami]]'s most iconic characters and has been seen as an unofficial mascot by fans.
