These opponents are, in order, {{SSBB|Mario}}, {{SSBB|Donkey Kong}}, {{SSBB|Link}}, {{SSBB|Samus}}, {{SSBB|Yoshi}}, {{SSBB|Kirby}}, {{SSBB|Fox}}, and {{SSBB|Pikachu}}. Note that this is the same order they appeared in on the original ''Super Smash Bros.'' opening movie and character selection screen. This is also in the order from the first characters chronologically by first appearance in a video game, which are Mario and Donkey Kong, to the last chronologically appearing of the eight, which is Pikachu.

Because both of them are the 10th event (and first All-Star event), both have Mario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi as opponent characters, both have Mario and Donkey Kong being fought as the first and second opponents, and both pit against starter characters.
