**Sheik is the only character playable in this event who does not appear in the banner, referencing how she isn't present on the character selection screen in ''Melee'' and instead shares a slot with Zelda.
*The Smash Ball is the only item available in the tournament not to be present in ''Melee''.
**Likewise, the [[Fan]], [[Red Shell]], [[Barrel Cannon]], [[Cloaking Device]], [[Flipper]], and [[Parasol]] are the only items from ''Melee'' to not appear, due to the fact that they are not present in ''Ultimate''.
