The Porky Statue (キングのぞう Kingu no Zō, King Statue) also known as the Pig King Statue or King P. Statue is a huge statue of Porky Minch from Mother 3. It can be seen in New Pork City and appears as a boss there in Mother 3.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The Porky Statue can be seen in the background of the New Pork City stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The statue is also a collectible trophy.

The Porky Statue also plays a role in The Subspace Emissary level The Ruined Zoo. It chases Lucas down until Ness shows up after enough time has passed and destroys it, revealing Porky Minch, himself. The statue is completely invincible during normal gameplay so it can't be destroyed, however, it does not attack. It just simply walks across the entire level while the player has to maneuver around obstacles. The statue damages the player and enemies via contact and would also destroy obstacles.

Trophy Description

A guardian statue standing inside New Pork City that's clearly based on Porky himself. Investigate it, and the statue will turn hostile and start a battle. And it has 100,000,000 HP! It has very high stats, so you'll never win if you attack it straight-on. Thankfully, there's an item called "New Year's Eve" that can reduce its HP to 1--then you can defeat it with ease.

Origin

The Porky Statue made its first appearance in Mother 3. The Porky Statue is a statue of Porky Minch with the inscription: "The smartest, bravest, and toughest chubster of all time. Here stands a statue of our great leader, Master Porky." and is located on the northeast corner of New Pork City. After Lucas and Co. find Boney and defeat Fassad for the last time, they have the option to battle the Porky Statue. If the player "checks" on the statue, it will have "hostile feelings" and attacks. The Porky Statue is almost impossible to defeat, having 100,000,000 HP. The attacks that the Porky Statue use include: stomping its feet, swinging both arms around, and hitting a player with the book it's holding. The attacks deal a great amount of damage. The most practical way to defeating the statue is buying and using the New Year's Eve Bomb (which is a bomb that causes a great explosion that only leaves the Porky Statue with 1 HP left). The other method is to try to use PK Flash. In EarthBound, Ness can learn "PSI Flash γ" and "PSI Flash Ω" (Better known as PK Flash), both of which have a high probability of defeating an enemy instantly. In Mother 3, there is only one version of PK Flash that Lucas can learn, but there is a small chance that PK Flash will cause an instant defeat, and the Porky Statue is weak to PK Flash.

The Porky Statue doesn't attack in the Subspace Emissary, but instead just chases Lucas across the level; however, Lucas can get damaged and knocked backed if he ever touches the statue. In the cut-scene after that level, Ness uses PK Flash to defeat the statue which is a reference to both PK Flash attacks having a chance to defeat an enemy instantly, and how the Porky Statue is weak to PK Flash.

Trivia

• The Porky Statue is supposed to resemble New York City's Statue of Liberty in its appearance. Instead of a tablet and a torch, the statue holds a comic book and a slingshot. Likewise, "New Pork City" is a play on the name "New York City".
• In the SSE cut-scene, Ness attacks the statue with PK Thunder and destroys it with PK Flash. However, when playing in the Ruined Zoo (after the SSE is beaten) with Ness, PK Thunder and PK Flash won't do anything to the statue.
