Well, if you have a fear of potentially losing all of your work, and/or if you're overwhelmed or not confident with editing the entire page at once, it's a reasonable thing to edit things one by one, little by little.
Though a thing that could work is occasionally doing CTRL+A and CTRL+C to copy everything so if you lose it you could just paste it all back in. I mean if that's pertinent to this situation.
