Tournament:NOOB (series)
NOOB (No One Owns Better) is a Melee tournament series held in Ocoee, Florida (Orlando area) at the Trilobyte Gaming Center. It is hosted by the Central Florida smasher Skrach, and he is helped by Colbol. The series began in February of 2010, and has had 2 successful tournaments. The series' creation was inspired by the closing of long-time Florida smash hub Gigabits.
NOOB 1
Hosted on February 20th, 2010, NOOB 1 (Tournament Thread) proved to be a very successful opener to the tournament series, with 43 people entering singles and 15 teams entering doubles. Many notable players showed up, including Hungrybox, DaShizWiz, Colbol, RockCrock, and other prominent players in the Florida smash scene. It was also remarkable in that DaShizWiz's brothers, KeepSpeedN and SmashMac also showed up with him because neither had been seen in the tournament scene in a very long time.
The doubles tournament was held with brackets. Because of the turnout for singles, however, pools were run, each consisting of 5 players, with the top 4 continuing to the bracket. A single recording set-up was present, and was streamed live the day of the tournament. BossMagnet was present and took many pictures, which can be seen here.

NOOB 2
NOOB 2 (Tournament Thread) was held on April 17th, 2010. After all the hype and great turnout for the first tournament, people were expecting big things for this tournament. However, after many unfortunate occurrences, many smashers that had planned on coming were unable to attend, mainly due to car trouble. On the bright side, smashers from Georgia including PB&J and Merck were able to drive down.
The full results of the tournament were lost from Skrach's computer, but the turnout was estimated at over 30 entrants for singles.

NOOB 3
The next installment of the series (Tournament Thread) was initially planned for late July 2010. However, the tournament was officially postponed to a later date as Skrach had conflicts and could not host.
