Alliance is a Swedish-centric pro gaming team. Founded by Razer and Evil Geniuses director Alex Garfield in early 2013, its original members were StarCraft II star Johan Lucchesi (NaNiwa) and an all-Swedish rising star DotA 2 team previously known as No Tidehunter - which included Akke, who had competed in Melee professionally as Sheik. Internationally, it is best known for its success in the DotA 2 arena - especially at The International III in August 2013, when it won the tournament and a $1.4 million first prize without losing a series.

On November 6th, 2014, it entered the Melee arena when it signed Armada.[1] Akke posted on his Twitter account a welcome on behalf of the DotA team[2] and responded to a fan asking if he, Loda and AdmiralBulldog could beat Armada in a handicap match with "Probably not."
