Does the chance of getting a non-Waddle/Gordo item seem higher or lower than the chance of getting a Saturn/Bob-omb/sword with Peach in Melee? I've only seen it happen once or twice. 63.231.156.149 02:44, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

I just did extensive testing in practice mode, it's about the same chance as Gordo throw. Capsules are much more common than, say, a Smash Ball, just like more capsules than Smash Balls spawn from item drops.75.163.234.117 01:19, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
After extensive re-testing, I never recieved an item besides a capsule (except from a capsule I threw), so my guess is that everyone (me included) saw the released item and assumed Dedede threw it directly.75.163.235.9 03:38, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Actually he doesn't throw the capsule directly (by pressing A I'm assuming) because the capsule moves like a normally thrown item, or in otherwords, the way the capsule moves (which is LIKE any regular thown capsule) causes the capsule to burst upon hitting the ground. Capsules are more likely then gordos, and the smash ball can appear from a capsule that King Dedede got from the move. Those capsules can also explode just like regular containers but this is rare (within the chances of getting a capsule). Those capsules will most likely have an item that will greatly help you, usually being gear. Oh Yes, Gordos are very rare, Waddle Doos are very unlikely, probrably about 1/9 is the chance, Gordos are probrably 1/30 if not more, and capsule drops are probrably 1/20 to appear. It all most likely depends on a (random number?) depending on what thing you get. I'm not really sure, but capsules appear to be more likely then gordos, but think, gordos are powerful when they hit (they also look painful) if gordos appeared more often, then it would be unfair. Capsules really do the damage of a regular one (because they are regular capsules, just spawned from a move) so it would seem more likely for them to appear. Learner3 10:40, 13 April 2008 (EDT)
Yes he does throw it directly. The side special move throws the capsule. It doesn't just appear in his hand. - Gargomon251 (talk) 21:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
DOES he actually have a chance to throw a pitfall?! I've never seen him throw one before. Learner4 (talk) 16:39, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
No. No he never does. Ever. - Gargomon251 (talk) 21:09, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

I believe I once threw out a Green Shell while playing as Dedede. Maybe it was just a capsule that was broken by another attack as soon as it came out, but it looked to me like he threw out a Green Shell. That's the only instance I've seen that it was an item other than a Capsule, though, so I could be wrong.
