Memory card speculation
We've seen absolutely nothing at all suggesting that it may be possible to unlock certain things in Brawl if you have saves of previous SSB games on your memory card, thus it's random and irrelevant speculation. You don't mention things like that simply because there's a slight possibility of it being true. It's that simple.
