| Bulbasaur appears as a somewhat small, green, squat, quadrupedal saurian with a bulbous plant growing on its back. As stated in the various Pokédex entries in the RPG series, from the day it is born, there is a plant seed implanted in its back. The seed grows steadily larger into a bulb as Bulbasaur itself grows. Inside this bulb is a mass of seeds filled with nutrients, and the bulb and seeds grow as they soak up the sun's rays. Bulbasaur can often be seen napping in bright sunlight because the energy that gets stored into its bulb enhances the seeds which the specie uses for nourishment of its body. It can go for days without actually eating a single physical morsel because of the nutrition its bulb provides.
