Flying Slam is Bowser's Side Special Move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, replacing the Koopa Klaw. Body Slam is essentially the same move as Koopa Klaw, with one fundamental difference: Bowser claws at his opponent and if he connects, he'll perform a flying suplex, rather than biting his opponent as he did with the Koopa Klaw. Bowser's air movement can be controlled greatly during this move. Bowser appears unable to bite his enemy with this move, unlike with the Koopa Klaw. This move can be used to easily cause a Suicide KO, (commonly known as "Bowsercide") even while in the air, which is particularly useful against edgeguarders performing a "wall of pain" style edgeguard. The victim isn't entirely at Bowser's mercy, though, as they can also alter Bowser's horizontal trajectory. However, the effectiveness of this is dependent on one's current percentage.

Interestingly, the DOJO!! has stated that if one uses this move to do a Suicide KO while both are on the last stock of a Stock Brawl, the game would be called in Bowser's favor. However, videos have shown in such a situation that the game is called a tie and Sudden Death occurs. However, in other situations, this has resulted in Bowser's victory. It has been found that whether Bowser wins or a Sudden Death occurs depends on Bowser's controller port compared to the victim. If Bowser's a lower player number than the foe, he wins. If Bowser's is higher, Sudden Death occurs . In the PAL version, the player number doesn't matter. The player who is on the top, when the KO happens, wins. In the Subspace Emissary, Bowser does not actually perform a flying suplex, yet he still inflicts damage with his claws.

Giga Bowser can also use this move.
