Ike is a character from the TBS/RPG Fire Emblem. Ike first appeared in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and returned in its sequel, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Ike first started out in a sell-sword company known as the Greil Mercenaries, run by his father, Greil. After the nation of Crimea is attacked by the forces of Daein, Ike is thrown into the conflict, which pours into surrounding nations. In the end, Ike kills the mad King Ashnard of Daein and ends the conflict.
Ike was announced to be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl on August 1st, 2007, making him the first new character to be announced only on the Smash Bros. Dojo!! webpage, as opposed to earlier newcomers that were first announced in videos and trailers. He is shown in his "Ranger" class outfit, wielding the legendary sword Ragnell.
Moveset
Special Moves
- B- Eruption
This move can be charged for devastating power. The move is seemingly based upon Marth and Roy's normal special attack, which consisted of a charged strike.

- Up B- Aether
Ike throws his sword up in the air, leaps up, and swiftly plunges down. For a short time during the attack, Ike will not flinch when he is attacked, but still take damage.
Aether is based on Ike's "Occult," or ultimate special ability in Fire Emblem 9. It consisted of two strikes, one that negated defense and one that absorbed HP from the target.
- Down B- Counter
Though not officially announced, a move similar to former Fire Emblem characters Marth and Roy's counter was shown by Ike at the "E for All" convention. Nintendo has not made any other comments on this move.
Taunt
Super Smash Brothers Dojo has confirmed only one of Ike's taunts, in which is thrusts his sword into the ground and crosses his arms. It is assumed that this is the "Down-Taunt" but it has been yet to be confirmed.
This Taunt was also shown in the Fall 2007 Nintendo Conference video of Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
Entrance
Ike's entrance onto the stage was seen at E for All, later on the Dojo. Ike appears using warp magic.
Final Smash
Ike's final smash is called Great Aether. It is much like Aether, his normal Up-B attack, but ignites his sword and hits the player multiple times, then then slams down. Characters caught in landing impact are also damaged as well.
