Equally as odd or perhaps moreso than that is his personality, primarily his delusional insistence that he is a reincarnation of a fairy. He made his debut in the game ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask]]'' and has become one of the ''Zelda'' series' oddest and most noticeable recurring characters.

| Tingle appears as a stage element in the [[Great Bay]] stage. Tingle is tied onto a balloon string and is floating over the stage. Tingle's balloon can be used as a platform. If the balloon breaks by either an attack or from standing on it too long, Tingle will struggle in the air then fall to the ground. If a character touches the balloon while it is popping, that character will take little damage. Tingle will blow his balloon up after being on the ground for a few seconds.
