However, since Donkey Kong 64, Cranky Kong has referred to the current Donkey Kong as his son, possibly meaning that there could have been a retcon and that the current Donkey Kong is actually a grown up Donkey Kong Jr. Donkey Kong's codec info on [[Shadow Moses Island]] (where Otacon mentions that the current Donkey Kong is Cranky's grandson), however, can be used to contradict this.
