One thing I noted is that, although the leaked Amiibo isn't shown to be in the Smash Bros. series, the box art in the image GAME tweeted doesn't match the Amiibo pose, something I believe would be a first time case. On the other hand, Shovel Knight (the game) still hasn't been released in Japan, and every Smash Bros. character has made an appearance there.
