Nouns Bowl 2025 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee major and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate event held in Canton, Ohio from April 26th-27th, 2025. The top two non-invited players for the Melee singles event were invited to Nounsvitational Tokyo 2025.

Tournament Summary

Mono became the third unique Yoshi player after aMSa and Egg$ to place in top 32 of a major, and the first Yoshi player after aMSa to place in top 24. Additionally, Junebug's victory over Zain marked his first loss to a Donkey Kong player since the rise of the character in the post-lockdown era.

5 of the top 8 seeds made it into top 8. Plup was the first top 8 seed to be knocked out, finishing at 25th after losing to TheRealThing. Following his loss to Junebug, Zain would defeat Mono and mgmg before falling to Cody Schwab to bow out at 9th, his first time missing top 8 at a tournament since GENESIS 6, excluding sandbagging. Following his victory against Zain, Junebug would fall to Nicki in a winners-side top 8 qualifier before being eliminated by Aklo for another 9th place finish after his run at GENESIS X2. Axe would also exit at 9th after losing to Jmook and Moky. Mang0 and Joshman would both enter top 8 winners-side by winning character dittos against Cody Schwab and Magi.

The most notable run to top 8 however came from MOF. After losing in winners side top 32 to Jmook's Zelda, MOF would storm through Just, Krudo, and Magi to qualify for top 8 losers side, marking not only MOF's first major top 8, but the first time two Ice Climbers players made top 8 at a major since Super Champ Combo in 2007.

Top 8 also proceeded with multiple upsets. Nicki defeated Mang0 3-1 to enter winners finals to face Joshman, who defeated Jmook 3-0, in a runback from their set at Don't Park on the Grass 2024. Joshman defeted Nicki 3-1 to enter winners side of grand finals for the first time in his career. After falling to losers finals, Nicki would then fall to Cody Schwab for his second 3rd place finish at a major. After tearing through losers, Cody would dominantly 3-0 Joshman in the first set of grand finals before Joshman rebounded and took the second set to its last game, with Cody clutching out the victory 3-2.
