Summary[edit]

Short video of colliding ground attack hitboxes in Melee. This is a showcase of the sound effect used when two "slash" hitboxes collide, as well as the regular sound effect used in all other cases.

This video also showcases that swords or sharp metallic objects are not required for the special metallic "ting" sound to play. As long as both hitboxes uses the "slash" effect, then that sound effect will be used.
