File talk:The dark side.jpeg

Wait, why is this considered replaced with File:Mario Spirited RIP.png? I opened both in an image editor and they are literally the same, except the png has a 5.5 times larger file size. It looks like someone took the jpeg and changed the extension afterwards.--CanvasK (talk) 08:55, April 20, 2020 (EDT)

Apparently the original jpeg was requested to be replaced with a png. I'm clueless about the differences between file name extensions so even I'm not sure why it needed to be "replaced with png". OmegαToαd64 • the Best Kαrter 09:02, April 20, 2020 (EDT)

The previous revision was arguably lower quality and maybe someone assumed png is always higher in quality. However the new png still has jpeg artifacts, so I don't think it is a valid replacement. For images like this I think jpeg is fine.--CanvasK (talk) 09:06, April 20, 2020 (EDT)
