DreamHack Austin 2017 was a Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U major which took place from April 28th-30th, 2017 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. It was the first time a DreamHack event featured tournaments for both Melee and Smash 4, and was the first event in the DreamHack Smash Championship 2017 season, a series spanning events in North America and Sweden and featuring $100,000 in prize money in total.
Notably, Armada dropped out of Melee singles due to controller issues.[1]
