An Arcadian is a [[tournament]] format where all the ranked players from a specific region are banned from participating, therefore only allowing the unranked players to participate and for ascending players to reach the ranked territory. Arcadians still feature the same rulesets as other tournaments however.  Most Arcadians also force any player to not participate even if their not from the state, however [[tournament organizers]] usually screen out-of-state players before they can play.
