Olimar, known on the website as Pikmin & Olimar, was announced to be returning for Super Smash Bros. 4 on July 12th, at around 4:50am Eastern Daylight Time, on the games' official website. His reveal came one day before the release date of Pikmin 3 in Japan, which Sakurai noted in a Miiverse post. He retains Red, Yellow, Blue, White, and Purple Pikmin. Olimar uses brighter colours in Super Smash Bros. 4 than he did in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and his whistle is now visible at the bottom of his helmet.

Known moveset

From the images of Olimar that have been seen, Olimar's forward smash, down smash, and back aerial from Brawl have been identified to have been retained.
