Reporting similar and unacceptable usernames

Tamerlan Tsarnaev (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · Tsarnaev WHOIS) Also intolerable because both Tsarnaevs (reality-wise) bombed Boston and killed hundreds (again, feel free to search up Tsarnaev on Wikipedia and/or Google). - Drilly Dilly (talk) 05:12, 27 September 2015 (EDT)

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · Tsarnaev WHOIS) Again, another intolerable username (if you don't know who Tsarnaev is, search him up on Google and/or Wikipedia). - Drilly Dilly (talk) 04:33, 27 September 2015 (EDT)

Osama bin Laden (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · bin Laden WHOIS) Unacceptable username. - Drilly Dilly (talk) 01:23, 27 September 2015 (EDT)

Hitler (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) Need I say more? - Drilly Dilly (talk) 04:47, 27 September 2015 (EDT)

Nazi (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) Again, plain obvious. - Drilly Dilly (talk) 04:47, 27 September 2015 (EDT)

Adolf Hitler (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · Hitler WHOIS) Pretty obvious. - Drilly Dilly (talk) 04:47, 27 September 2015 (EDT)

Pregnant ape jesus (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · ape jesus WHOIS) pretty offensive username. (Smashworker101 (talk) 13:43, 20 December 2014 (EST))

He was already told he had an inappropriate name. Not much can be done now, and I haven't seen him since the day he joined. Rtzxy   Reflect! 13:55, 20 December 2014 (EST)
I know that part. (Smashworker101 (talk) 14:12, 20 December 2014 (EST))

User:Wieners in man butt Pretty sure anyway. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 16:29, 1 December 2014 (EST)

Famikonkābī (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS). Not quite sure if it completely falls under the other language section, but it definitely falls under the difficulty typing it out part of it. PikaSamus (talk)   17:20, 2 December 2014 (EST)

A few accents doesn't make a name hard to type and still be understood. See Pokemon. Toomai Glittershine   The Trumpeteer 17:22, 2 December 2014 (EST)
I thought it was referring to linking to the user's page and whatnot, sorry about that. PikaSamus (talk)   17:25, 2 December 2014 (EST)

Extiicy (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log · WHOIS) ...Am I the only one who sees a similarity between the username and this?  Aidan the Aura Master 09:25, 3 February 2015 (EST)

are you sure your illusions are coming? Smashworker101 (talk) 21:59, 4 February 2015 (EST)
Comparing Extiicy with Ecstasy kinda doesn't make a huge difference because Ecstasy is a philosophy, drug, emotional, songs, art, and a religion (kind of) and Extiicy is not a real word. So...... Smashworker101 (talk) 22:14, 4 February 2015 (EST)
I'm just saying they sound a lot alike, and it may or may not be a coincidence.  Aidan the Aura Master 09:05, 5 February 2015 (EST)

.... Although I do get why you might think my name (Extiicy) is affiliated with a drug, I really did not intend to make it that way, I do not seek to have people confuse my name with the drug, I've always had this username even before I knew what ecstasy was, it's just a coincidence I guess. Renaming proposal

I think we should include a section on renaming users, so users know what exactly happens (and that it exists). It would go something like this:

"If a user doesn't like their current username, it is possible for a bureaucrat to change the username. The process is really simple.
  • After deciding on a new username, a user would report the new username request to an active bureaucrat on his/her talk page.
  • The bureaucrat will decide if the name change is appropriate. If it is, then the bureaucrat will ask the user to wait a few days to make sure he/she really wants the new username. When a few days have passed, the user should remind the bureaucrat of the rename, which at that time, the bureaucrat will rename the user. In the event the new username is not appropriate, the bureaucrat will ask the user to come up with a new name."

It's not the best of wordings, to be honest, but it's a general idea, and you may fix it as you please. Rtzxy   Reflect! 22:58, 4 December 2014 (EST)

I'm working on a separate policy page for this; I don't think it really works well merged with this one. Toomai Glittershine   The Obfuscating 23:00, 4 December 2014 (EST)
Really? I think it could fit on this page. This is about usernames, right? Rtzxy   Reflect! 23:02, 4 December 2014 (EST)
This is about "what a legal username is", which I don't think fits with "the procedure and restrictions on having your name changed". Toomai Glittershine   The Researcher 23:04, 4 December 2014 (EST)
Well, who says we can't rewrite this policy into a general username policy, one that's not just about which usernames are acceptable and what's not? It shouldn't be that hard to do anyways, right? Rtzxy   Reflect! 23:06, 4 December 2014 (EST)
