Air deceleration

Air deceleration is the opposite of air acceleration: it is the rate at which a character can reverse their momentum when holding a direction opposite to where they're traveling.

Air friction

Air friction is the rate at which a character loses aerial momentum when the Control Stick is returned to its neutral position. Coupled with air acceleration and deceleration, high air friction can allow a character to "zig-zag" very quickly in midair, most notably Mega Man.
