Cloud is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. He was announced during the November 12th, 2015 Nintendo Direct.

Trivia

• Cloud is the second DLC character to represent a newly-added series to SSB4.
• Cloud's reveal trailer references moments and characters from the original Final Fantasy VII.
  • In Cloud Strife's reveal trailer, it's obvious that Zelda portrays Aeris the flower girl, a playable character from final fantasy 7,as they bear a very similar appearance and have similar personalities (sweet, caring, beautiful, mysterious) and the fact that Zelda is holding the Lip's Stick item which bears a resemblance to the flowers Aeris sold in Final fantasy 7.
  • Cloud vs Ike towards the end is a reference to the final battle in Cloud's mind between Cloud and Sephiroth.
