"Certain third-party Gamecube controllers are not recognized by Brawl for an unknown reason." Which ones specifically? I have a third-party controller, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with Brawl, and I can't try it myself until I get a Gamecube memory card. 71.193.208.6 03:27, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

I dont't no which third party controller. I have a gamecube controller that is compatible with Brawl.Tylersb7 (talk) 03:42, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

I don't know the brand name or anything, but I have two third-party controllers that have turbo functions, and Brawl ignores them. I suggest that Brawl is really picky about controllers that don't "feel" exactly as it's expecting. Toomai Glittershine Toomai.png The Table Designer 13:48, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

Why is the controller in Classic Controller a proper noun while this isn't? Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 08:44, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

I only saw that the Classic Controller's article's text always refers to the "Controller" part of the name with a capital c whereas this article's text doesn't do so for its subject. If you feel this or the CC article is mistaken on its capitalization, please let me know. JamesHeart123 09:26, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Official sources refer to the Classic Controller this way, I haven't seen the same for the GameCube controller. Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatumA transparent image of Swadloon for my sig. 10:19, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
The other wiki uses a lower-case c for this (contrast this). Miles (talk) 11:20, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

I thing the reason that Classic Controller is a proper noun and this isn't is because this is the controller for the GameCube, whilst the Classic Controller needs the controller part to make sense. ScoreCounter (talk) 11:45, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

What ScoreCounter said. The "Classic Controller" is an official name given to the device by Nintendo. The "GameCube controller" is not as Nintendo did not explicitly give it this name GameCube describes the type of controller and controller is a common noun. Question[edit]

Is the GameCube adapter compatible with Brawl on a Wii U? Changing the head icon used. No biggie.Aidan, Master of Speed and AuraPer Request, for User:Aidanzapunk. 13:13, 25 July 2015 (EDT)

I believe the adapter refuses to work until the console tells it "this is SSB4, go ahead" (from what I remember of what the people who made the PC driver saying), in which case it wouldn't work for literally any other game. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Yellow 13:52, 25 July 2015 (EDT)

Switch compatibility[edit]

Should it be mentioned that every Switch game is compatible with the GameCube controller, as the console registers controllers plugged into the Wii U adapter as a Pro Controller? --ComJay (talk) 08:44, 24 May 2018 (EDT)

May as well, yeah. Serpent SKSig.png King 14:30, 24 May 2018 (EDT)
