Mainstage 2022 is an ongoing Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament being held in Ontario, California, on December 2nd-4th, 2022 as part of Beyond the Summit's open tournament series. The Top 6 players for Melee and Ultimate will qualify for Smash Summit 15 and Smash Ultimate Summit 6, respectively.

Mainstage 2022 features the Last Chance Qualifier and The Arcadian Finals for The Arcadian circuit. Globally ranked players are not permitted to enter the circuit, and dropping out from Ultimate singles' main bracket then participating in the Last Chance Qualifier is not permitted.[1] Four players from each of the three online qualifiers and the Top 4 players of the Last Chance Qualifier will make up the 16 players of the finals. The Arcadian Finals will be a double-elimination bracket, where the Top 4 will win a VIP trip to Smash Ultimate Summit 6. The total prize pool for the finals will be $50,000, which will be the seventh-largest singles pot for an Ultimate tournament.

Due to the cancellation of the Smash World Tour 2022 Championships, a Melee and Ultimate supermajor planned for the following weekend, bracket registration was re-opened from November 29th-30th, 2022. All venue fees from then on were paid to Smash World Tour. Free venue was available for anyone who was registered for the Smash World Tour 2022 Championships and hadn't registered for Mainstage 2022.[2]

Trivia

  • Ringler came on the brink of upsetting Leffen in Top 64, but would end up getting reverse 3-0'd after Leffen switched to Sheik in the third game.
  • KoDoRiN became the second Marth player to defeat Axe in the post-quarantine era of Melee singles, following Zain's victory over him at Shine 2022.
    • Interestingly, both players accomplished this with a reverse 3-0.
