'''Apex 2014''' was the fifth tournament of the [[Apex (tournament series)|Apex]] tournament series directed by {{Sm|Alex Strife}}. It was held around the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend from January 17th-19th, 2014. Like previous tournaments of the series, Apex 2014 hosted a variety of fighting games including the three official ''Smash Bros.'' games, as well as ''[[Project M]]''. It was the largest ''Project M'' tournament of all time with 382 entrants, the largest ''[[Smash 64]]'' tournament in the United States with 157 entrants, the second-largest ''Brawl'' tournament of all time (behind [[Apex 2012]]) with 370 entrants, and the fourth-largest ''[[Melee]]'' tournament of all time (behind [[Apex 2015]], [[EVO 2014]], and [[EVO 2013]]) with 629 entrants.
