Hay, in this article it says that it is incomplete, and "When does it stop in Ultimate"? Could somebody please explain to me what it means, so I can fix it? == Changing Kirby's Japanese Crowd Cheer description ==
All of the pages describing the Kirby's Japanese Crowd Cheer describes it as "Kirby" (separated in various ways like "Kir-by" or "Ki-r-by" depending of the game). The thing is that the Japanese Cheer of Kirby clearly says "Kābī" (can also be written as Kābii, Kaabī or Kaabii) which is his Japanese name. The difference lies in the first syllable, which instead of an "i" and a "r" uses two "a" and thus is pronounced a bit different, so I was wondering if it should be changed (changing "Kir-by" to "Kaa-bii" and "Ki-r-by" to "Ka-a-bii" etc.). My reasons for this are:
*As I said before, the pronunciation isn't the same in both idioms (unlike characters like Mario).
*There are some characters that do use their romanized pronunciations in their Japanese descriptions instead of their English translations, like Alex, Bayonetta, Chrom, Dr. Mario, Duck Hunt, Link, etc. So I think that Kirby, or well, Kābī should too.
I would change this myself, but as I'm not familiarized with Smash Wiki's policies, I don't know if that is a change that should be done or not. I suppose that the reason of why Kirby was used instead of Kābī is because the former is the "translation" of the later, and maybe this Wiki's policies states that in those cases the translations of the names should be used (though is that was the case, I suppose that the names of Alex, Chrom, Dr. Mario and others should be changed). So, could someone that have an understanding of this Wiki's policies confirm or deny me if romanization of names is preferred in Japanese Descriptions of Crowd Cheers? And thus, confirm or deny if changing "Kirby" to "Kābī" would be a good change? Thanks. -Kirbeat (talk) 19:35, October 9, 2021 (EDT)
