# That being said, I do not it can be argued that the Duck Hunt black alt. (color #2) is based on a Rottweiler or Coonhound because most of these dogs have black-and-tan coats. The alt has a tricolor coat, and while both Rottweilers and Coonhounds can exhibit this coat pattern, so do many, many other dogs and it is typically not associated with them. I see little reason to think the alt could arguably be based on any specific breed. There are just too many hound-like dog breeds with that type of coat. The most realistic and conservative comment to make is that the dog has a tricolored coat pattern. I have contacted the Japan Kennel Club for records on hunting dog registered in 2013 to learn if there’s a popular breed of hunting dog associated with the tricolored pattern that could be the source of inspiration, but they have not gotten back to me yet. Until we do, I do not think we could argue the black alt looks like any specific alt. | # That being said, I do not it can be argued that the Duck Hunt black alt. # I think we should be more conservative in general with the breeds suggested. Chocolate labs are monotone and probably would not have a white muzzle like in the 4th alt. There’s a similar issue with the yellow 7th alt., which supposedly looks like a Golden Retriever despite having brown sock and ear patterns. - [[User:Nintendo101|Nintendo101]] ([[User talk:Nintendo101|talk]]) 15:55, 19 July 2018 (EDT) | # I think we should be more conservative in general with the breeds suggested. To me, this very much resembles the Orange Luigi from Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon's ScareScraper.I think it was the P3 Luigi. But I think this makes more sense then saying it looks like boxart of Mario with a different colored hat. I'd say that's a much larger leap than saying it looks like an alternate Luigi from ScareScraper. |
