OverviewEdit

One of the most prototypical pokes in Melee. With its fairly short 5 frame startup and long reach, this is one of Samus's most useful grounded moves and is an excellent low-risk, medium reward move at mid-percents and up. Whilst technically -16 on block, the enormous range of the move will usually make it safe when spaced on shield. A great option for checking people dashing forwards towards Samus, and at higher percents it serves as a solid tech-chase starter. It can also be angled upwards and downwards, the latter serving as a good option for poking at ledge during edgeguarding.
