Kritter: Difference between revisions

Kritters are the basic enemies of the classic ''Donkey Kong Country'' games, with a role similar to {{uv|Mario}}'s [[Goomba]]s. They damage the player on contact, and can be defeated by a jump, a rolling tackle, or a thrown {{s|mariowiki|barrel}}. Green Kritters walk back and forth, while blue Kritters move around by jumping. Kritters have been playable in a variety of ''Donkey Kong'' games, particularly the spin-off titles released in the 2000s. In ''Diddy Kong Racing'', one of the playable characters is a Kritter named Krunch, one of two characters in the entire game (alongside [[Diddy Kong]]) to be based on existing ''Donkey Kong'' lore (not counting [[Dixie Kong]] and Tiny Kong, added in the DS port to replace Conker and [[Banjo]] respectively). Unlike other ''Donkey Kong'' villains, Kritters have had multiple appearances in the ''Mario'' franchise - as spectators in the ''Mario Tennis'' series, playable characters in ''Mario Super Sluggers'', and - perhaps most notably - non-playable goalies in the ''Mario Strikers'' series.
