To me, the fact that the "Fire/Explosion Attack ↑" skill and the "Fire Attack ↑" trait are named differently is indicative that the former at least includes the explosive effect, but it is worth mentioning the latter is unclear
(might as well spell this out just in case)

Explosive attacks are boosted by Explosives Attack stickers in Super Smash Bros. Brawls The Subspace Emissary and the Spirit skill or trait Fire & Explosion Attack ↑ as well as certain Spirit Battle conditions in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, explosive attacks are resisted by the Spirit skill of trait Fire/Explosion Resist ↑ and deal more damage to fighters equipped with a Primary Spirit with the trait Fire Weakness. However, it is currently unclear whether the spirit effects actually apply to the Explosion type, or whether they only apply to Flame attacks and including "explosion" in the name is thematically appropriate but not technically accurate.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, explosive attacks are resisted by the Spirit skill or trait Fire/Explosion Resist ↑ and deal more damage to fighters equipped with a Primary Spirit with the trait Fire Weakness. It is unclear whether these Spirits and conditions also affect attacks with the flame effect; the primary Spirit trait Fire Attack ↑ would appear to only boost attacks with the flame effect rather than explosive attacks.

While explosive is separate to the effect flame, most explosive attacks also have the flame effect. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Ivysaur's bulb blasts are the only fighter attack to be explosive without being flame (they are Explosive/Grass instead). Not all attacks that can cause explosions are explosive-type.
