In Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong was able to do this move to get hidden items in the ground, though there weren't many places to do so. It also served as a second way to deal with enemies. In the game, however, DK would hit on the ground once with each hand each time, but was done the same way, by holding down and pressing attack. The move later appears in the Wii version of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, as well as Donkey Kong Country Returns, also on Wii.

Infinite Hand Slap combo
The Infinite Handslap combo is a technique performable only by Donkey Kong. To do it, get both the player (playing as Donkey Kong) and the opponent (playing as any character) in an area with a flat, low-hanging ceiling (for example, Hyrule Temple). The, the player must use Hand Slap repeatedly.<br>
This allows the player to rack up damage quickly. However, it can be teched out of. It does not count as a combo by training mode's combo meter since the opponent lands on the ground momentarily.
