Latias and Latios are a pair of dual {{iw|bulbapedia|Dragon|type}}/{{iw|bulbapedia|Psychic|type}}-type {{s|bulbapedia|Legendary Pokémon}} introduced in in {{s|bulbapedia|Generation III}}. Latias and Latios are categorized within the Pokédex as the "Eon Pokémon" at #380 and #381 respectively. In [[bulbapedia:Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire Versions|''Pokémon Ruby'', ''Sapphire'']], and ''[[bulbapedia:Pokémon Emerald Version|Emerald]]'', one of them, depending on the version for ''Ruby'' and ''Sapphire'' or the player's choice for ''Emerald'', appears randomly in the wild after beating the Pokémon League roaming the {{s|bulbapedia|Hoenn}} region and attempting to flee after each encounter, while the other can be found in the event-only {{s|bulbapedia|Southern Island}}. Both make a return in ''{{s|bulbapedia|Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire}}'', where, depending on the version, one of the pair requests the player and {{s|bulbapedia|Steven Stone}} to save the other in Southern Island from {{s|bulbapedia|Team Magma}} (''Omega Ruby'') or {{s|bulbapedia|Team Aqua}} (''Alpha Sapphire''). After defeating the villainous team, Latios (''Omega Ruby'') or Latias (''Alpha Sapphire'') will join the player's team. Both of them are capable for {{s|bulbapedia|Mega Evolution}}.
