The island would later make a more detailed appearance in ''Wii Sports Resort'', which featured an Island Flyover game, allowing Miis to freely fly to any area of Wuhu Island, much like the progression of the stage in ''Smash 4''. This would later be expanded upon in ''Pilotwings Resort''. Additionally, Wuhu Island would become the basis of two different courses in  ''{{s|mariowiki|Mario Kart 7}}'', {{s|mariowiki|Wuhu Loop}}, and {{s|mariowiki|Maka Wuhu}}, as well as a battle course called {{s|mariowiki|Wuhu Town}} which would return in ''{{s|mariowiki|Mario Kart 8 Deluxe}}''.
