The '''Central Alberta Smash Tournament''', abbreviated '''CAST''', is a series of [[tournament]]s held in Red Deer, Alberta. CAST grew substantially more popular after the first tournament and began to serve as a gathering for competitive players from all across Alberta. Now, after CAST4, this tournament series has become a strong national tournament, where players from across Canada and the US come to participate.

The '''Central Alberta Smash Tournament''' (abbreviated '''CAST''') is a [[Tournament_series|series]] of tournaments held in Red Deer, Alberta. CAST grew substantially more popular after the first tournament and began to serve as a gathering for competitive players from all across Alberta.

In October of 2006, he arranged to host a tournament at the local Red Deer Public Library and invited local players to attend. Much to his surprise, the announcement garnered interest from the veteran Edmonton players as well as the [[Pro Impact BI-WEEKLY Smash|developing community]] in Calgary.

In an effort to make future tournaments more streamlined and efficient, he has recruited several players across Alberta to help prepare and host CAST.

Victra, the tournament director, was unable to attend this event because of personal reasons and the responsibility for the tournament was heavily placed upon assistant directors =] and Backitch. Although the tournament was a more smoothly run and organized affair in comparison to the past two, the prize money was severely low, which caused grief and anger among the winners.
