So, I've decided to compile my own monthly tier lists based on the current success ratings for each character.

I don't expect these lists to match up with the official ones at all; they're just here to show which characters are doing particularly well/horribly in tournaments.


Since the pages are getting a bit large, I've put them on their own pages now.


Current Project M List

With a new year comes a new list. Fox once again reclaims his number one spot, kicking ZSSamus down to #3. A clear change has emerged in this list, with the new meta allowing characters such as Peach, Ike, Pikachu, Samus, and even Kirby to gain some strength for once. Ike has reached a level that hasn't been seen since the June List, while Peach and Kirby have reached their highest placings yet. Meanwhile, Ice Climbers, Yoshi, and Lucario continue to disappoint. Lucario has spent the past 5 months in last place, of which the past 3 have left him in his own tier to rot.

This list has the shortest gap between first and last place out of all the previous tier lists.

Current Smash for Wii U Tier List

So, here it is. Apparently, my data source hasn't updated at all since the last list I did, so I just went "fuck it" and switched over to the Wii-U version of the game. As you can probably tell, this resulted in extreme changes brought on by the fact that people know better than to use all the lame characters. As a result, the clones continue to deviate drastically from their originals, with Lucina and Black Pit making the top 3. Meanwhile, characters like Falco and Game & Watch just shit the bucket and PLUMMETED FOURTY-THREE POSITIONS to reach their current statuses. Pit also got rescued from the lower-than-bottom tier and resides in a place more deserving for Sakurai's finest. Now you may be wondering, where are the Mii Fighters? Well, you see, the Mii Fighters have reached a new low in relevance, rivaled only by Smash Bros. for 3DS. I decided that it would probably be in my best interests to not include characters with only 1-3 instances of data which is heavily skewed because the only people who use these God-forsaken characters just so happen to be the only ones to consistently pull tournament victories out of their collective asses. Who knows? Perhaps if the Mii Fighters aren't completely ignored at APEX, I might consider adding them back in. Might.
