Looking Good So Far

But would it be a bother to get a different icon for the Ice Climbers in SSBM? It looks like there's an item spawning behind Nana, which doesn't look so good to me. If you think it's fine, then don't bother, but I say a different image would be beneficial. Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatumTransparent Swadloon.png 10:20, 21 March 2012 (EDT)

That burst effect actually belongs to Belay, which was the only way I could figure to get the two far enough apart to see both faces yet close enough to be reasonably zoomed in. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Researcher 10:50, 21 March 2012 (EDT)

Support

  1. Strong support: Finally, a fresh coat of paint. All of the old icons were taken from some other place anyway. --Havoc48 >:D!!! 18:24, 21 March 2012 (EDT)
  2. Strong support: In this way were not copying anything. :P ..... The Hydralisk NintenNESsprite.png 18:36, 21 March 2012 (EDT)
  3. There can't be much more to add. Support Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatumTransparent Swadloon.png 18:51, 21 March 2012 (EDT)
  4. Support: I had mixed feeling when I first saw them, but now I've come to like them. Unknown the Hedgehog 18:56, 21 March 2012 (EDT)
  5. Support: They look good, but Link's (Brawl) icon could have been a bit better. All look good. ZeldasmashFile:ZeldaSymbol.pngTalk 19:44, 21 March 2012 (EDT)
  6. Support Captain Falcon talk 03:10, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
  7. Very strong support: Although some don't have names, it'll be just as easy to understand who they are. The images also seem closer to the characters' faces. MeleeMarth01MM01Sig.png 22:00, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
  8. Weak support: I don't care one way or the other, but since this is what the wiki seems to want... DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 23:02, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
  9. Moderate Support: the brawl images do not need fixing. Another thing our images aren't the official ones from Nintendo (if the old ones weren't originated from there please tell me). The other two games are fine. LightningBlue: Music is Power 23:09, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
  10. Support: I think they are well done overall. However, I think that the picture of the Ice Climbers together and the picture of Popo could be cause for some ambiguity. I liked the name tags, although that would be redundant now as mostly everyone who uses this site already knows the characters' names. Hawk 21File:FZeroSymbol.pngTalk 01:37, 23 March 2012 (EDT)
The individual Ice Climbers pictures are more for completeness than anything; there's currently not much I can see that would use them (like the Zelda/Sheik icon for Melee; could be useful later, but not necessarily now). Toomai Glittershine ??? The Victorious 07:51, 23 March 2012 (EDT)

Oppose

  1. I liked having the names on the SSB & SSBM characters. The pics look worse than before (but the SSB ones, which are improved). Definitely keep the old SSBB pics. Meta Ike MetaIke.png 21:40, 25 March 2012 (EDT)

Neutral

  1. Meh. No real benefit; no real loss. They're pretty comparable to me, though I must say I really don't see the point in going through and replacing them. Miles (talk) 01:43, 23 March 2012 (EDT)
The intent with this is to get consistency between the icons of the three games. The current system has two sets of .pngs with names and round yet non-transparent corners against one set of .gifs with a different aspect ratio and naming system - now everything is an equally-sized .png with the same borders and naming convention. Replacing them will be a pain, but that's what you have to do sometimes. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Victorious 07:51, 23 March 2012 (EDT)
  2. Support for some icons, oppose for others. RickTommy (talk) 07:10, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
  3. Support, but I don't know if it's just me, but File:LinkIcon(SSBB).png has a background that is too close of a color to Link's face, which makes it hard to see if not displayed at full resolution. Mousehunter321 (talk · contributions) 16:56, 25 March 2012 (EDT)

Question

April is soon upon us. Soon we will go about replacing old icons. I have some suggestions for this to make it easier on us;

A) Reupload the old icon pictures with the new icon pictures.
B) Delete all the old icons and rename the new ones using the old naming system to avoid browser refreshing problems.
D) Or, stick with the suggested plan of replacing each and every instance of the old icon usage.

The main reason I bring this up is last one seems rather monotonous to me. --Havoc48 >:D!!! 22:20, 30 March 2012 (EDT)

I think a good idea would be to delete the old ones and turn them into redirects, then slowly change them over a longer period of time. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Non-Toxic 23:41, 30 March 2012 (EDT)
