Tingle is a short character that resembles a middle-aged, half-sized man dressed in a green suit. Equally as odd or perhaps more so than that is his personality, primarily his delusional insistence that he is a reincarnation of a fairy. He made his debut in the game ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask]]'' and has become one of the ''Zelda'' series' oddest and most noticeable recurring characters. He eventually got two games of his own.

Tingle (Japanese: チンクル, Chinkuru) is a character originally from The Legend of Zelda universe.

Character description

One of the Zelda series' oddest and most noticeable recurring characters, Tingle is a short character that resembles a middle-aged, half-sized man dressed in a green suit. Equally as odd or perhaps more so than that is his personality, primarily his delusional insistence that he is a reincarnation of a fairy.

Tingle first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask as a map maker. Whenever the player ends a conversation with Tingle, he would say "Tingle, Tingle! Kooloo-Limpah!", his "magic words". Tingle later appeared in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, where he made Triforce Charts readable - by saying his "magic words" - for a large number of rupees.

He eventually got three games of his own.

Gameplay

Super Smash Bros. Melee

Tingle, in his Majora's Mask form, appears as a stage element in the Great Bay stage. Tingle is tied onto a balloon string and is floating over the stage. Tingle's balloon can be used as a platform. If the balloon breaks by either an attack or from standing on it too long, Tingle will struggle in the air then fall to the ground. If a character touches the balloon while it is popping, that character will take a little damage. Tingle will blow his balloon up after being on the ground for a few seconds.

Tingle can be used like an item with an Action Replay. Tingle can only appear on the Test stage if an Action Replay is used.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Tingle appears as an Assist Trophy in Brawl, taking his design from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the only Assist Trophy from the vast The Legend of Zelda series as an Assist Trophy. Tingle summons random effects while chanting "Tingle! Tingle! Kooloo-limpah!". These effects include:

  • Creating a plethora of Hammers & Golden Hammers. Note that Hammers and Golden Hammers will appear even if those items are turned off.
  • Flies away releasing a plethora of balloons, no negative effects.
  • Throws banana peels in the air, making the whole ground slippery, resulting in a lot of tripping. Note that if the match is a team battle, this will also affect the player's teammates.
  • Releases lots of flowers, making the camera zoom in on the fighter who summoned him.
  • Gives everyone Superspicy Curry status.

Trophies & Stickers
