James has both versions of this game, though he does not play them as often as he thought he would.
 
James does like most of the newcomers, and he is glad character transformations are gone, but some of the cut veterans make no sense to him (why cut "perceived clones" just to add a previously cut one?). As far as the [[Ridley|<font color="blue">Ridley</font>]] debate goes, James now sees that it would be better for the character to be added as soon as possible to minimize the wait for a [[Metroid (universe)|<font color="blue">''Metroid''</font>]] newcomer he actually wants, as the overwhelming fan-demand is unlikely to be ignored for the next game.


There are [[User:JamesHeart123/Rosters|<font color="blue">numerous characters</font>]] James would like to see in this game.  However, the main change he would like to see is the option to use a Final Smash with Samus that doesn't cause her to transform.  Different [[Palette swap|<font color="blue">outfits</font>]] giving different Final Smashes, an idea brought up in [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf7H6pkbiVY&hd=1 <font color="blue">the Fiery Joker's SSB4 rant</font>] (specifically [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7gbCXOh2pM&hd=1 <font color="blue">part 2</font>]), would cover this.
Stages should have been handled differently, in James's opinion, as there are numerous universes that got a new stage in one version but a past-stage in another. However, he does enjoy the Omega feature and numerous stages in the game, such as [[Big Battlefield|<font color="blue">Big Battlefield</font>]] [[Mushroom Kingdom U|<font color="blue">Mushroom Kingdom U</font>]], [[Gamer|<font color="blue">Gamer</font>]], [[Kalos Pokémon League|<font color="blue">Kalos Pokémon League</font>]], [[Unova Pokémon League|<font color="blue">Unova Pokémon League</font>]], [[Mute City (SSB4)|<font color="blue">Mute City</font>]], [[Magicant|<font color="blue">Magicant</font>]], [[Arena Ferox|<font color="blue">Arena Ferox</font>]], [[Pac-Maze|<font color="blue">Pac-Maze</font>]], and [[Gaur Plain|<font color="blue">Gaur Plain</font>]]. He's even created a few stages, the most playable being an attempt to recreate the outside of [[bulbapedia:Cipher Key Lair|<font color="blue">Cipher Key Lair</font>]] from [[bulbapedia:Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness|<font color="blue">''Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness''</font>]].


Thoughts so far (character/stage-wise): James will most likely, predictably, start out maining [[Samus (SSB4)|<font color="blue">Samus</font>]] and [[Toon Link (SSB4)|<font color="blue">Toon Link</font>]] but will also try out [[Mega Man (SSB4)|<font color="blue">Mega Man</font>]] and [[Villager (SSB4)|<font color="blue">the Villager</font>]]. In terms of stages, he feels [[List of confirmed stages in Super Smash Bros. 4#Kid Icarus: Uprising stage|<font color="blue">the ''Kid Icarus'' stage</font>]] is the only one that really sticks out on the 3DS version, though this could just be because he's been following Chuggaaconroy's ''Uprising'' LP. Stages in the Wii U version that look good are [[Dr. Wily's Castle|<font color="blue">Dr. Wily's Castle</font>]] and [[Pyrosphere|<font color="blue">Pyrosphere</font>]], though both of these could be ruined by potential stage hazards that just need to be bosses or playable characters (James has put away his disapproval of [[Ridley|<font color="blue">Ridley</font>]] being playable if it means saving that stage).
Though, with [[Lucas (SSB4)|<font color="blue">Lucas</font>]] announced and the prospect of future DLC, most of the game's shortcomings are now negligible.
