'''The Big House''' is a [[Michigan]] tournament series hosted annually near the end of the year by {{Sm|Juggleguy}}. It began in 2011 as a regional event for ''[[Melee]]'', but has since grown to be one of the most prestigious for the game, often attracting around 1,000 entrants. It is considered one of the two premier ''Melee'' events of the year, alongside {{Trn|GENESIS|series}}.


The Big House is a major tournament series hosted by {{Sm|Juggleguy|USA}} in Michigan, United States. It has risen in popularity to the supermajority status and hosts "Melee" and "Smash 4" singles and doubles events, and previously hosted Project M tournaments in the past. In the most recent installment of the series, [[The Big House 6]], it grossed 777 entrants for Smash 4  and 1,537 entrants for "Melee, making it the 5th largest "Melee" tournament of all time and being the 7th largest "Smash 4" tournament of all time.
The event also previously held large events for ''[[Project M]]'' and ''[[Smash 4]]'', and it currently hosts events for ''[[Smash 64]]'' and ''[[Ultimate]]''. However, the tournament has been noticeably less prestigious for the latter two events.
