Ontario Esports Series Championship 2016 (OES 2016) was an Ontario provincial invitational tournament for Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U held from October 2nd-3rd, 2016.
Format
The tournament was an 8 player 1v1 invitational for each game. The 8 players was selected through qualifiers running from October 2015 until August 2016. The finals was held on October 2nd, 2016.
Qualifiers
Each qualifier event had a $100 bonus that was awarded to the player who successfuly qualified.
- Forest City Comicon 2015 (London) - October 18th, 2015
- No Man's LAN 2016 (Windsor) - March 19th-20th, 2016
- GOOD GAME CON 2016 (Toronto) - May 21st-22nd, 2016
- Nexus (Ottawa, Smash 4 only) - July 30th-31st, 2016
- ConBravo (Hamilton, Melee only) - July 29th-31st, 2016
- "Well Played" Points Leader (2x)
- Wildcard spots (2x)

These players automatically qualify by winning a qualifier. The top player at each event that had not qualified at a previous event was qualified for the OES 8-player invitational.
