I saw GameXplains latest discussion and they say that the Coin Battle mode will probably return (The text bubble in the third pikmin has coins in it?????) Can I add that? <small>—Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎Smasher-Billy (talk • contribs) 11:26, 20 October 2014 (EDT)</small>

Has there been any progress on this? I noticed recently that the news section is again filled with tournament results despite coming to see if any official news has happened. VinLAURiA (talk) 17:55, 9 November 2015 (EST)
: I also support a split. There should always be at least one non-tournament news item on the front page, to make it easier for people to determine if they missed anything. —Fenhl 04:25, 10 November 2015 (EST)
Clarification: I still think doing an outright split is a terrible idea. Non-competitive news is very intermittent, and at most we tend to get a patch a month. That leaves plenty of room in the template for tourney results. If someone comes looking for "was DLC announced in the last month" and the news infobox is tourney results from the last month and nothing else, I assume they are smart enough to realize that the answer is "no". <font color="dodgerblue"><span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;">Miles <font color="silver">(<font color="silver">talk)</font></font></span></font> 04:27, 10 November 2015 (EST)

: That's unhelpful for people who have not been keeping up as frequently or who don't remember the date of the last non-tournament news. I frequently find myself going through this template's history to look this up. Having at least one non-tournament news item on the main page would be a much clearer indicator of “no, you haven't missed anything relevant” than the current system. —Fenhl 04:35, 10 November 2015 (EST)
::Maybe, but it would make the front page messy, something we do not want. (it already is a little cluttered IMO) <span style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva; font-size:12pt"><span style="color:#008833; text-shadow:0px 0px 3px #00bb77;">Serpent</span> <span style="color:#eed000; text-shadow:0px 0px 3px #ffd000;">King</span></span> 04:38, 10 November 2015 (EST)
::: I don't see how, could you elaborate? —Fenhl 04:39, 10 November 2015 (EST)
::::Well to split it is to make a new section on the main page, right? <span style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva; font-size:12pt"><span style="color:#008833; text-shadow:0px 0px 3px #00bb77;">Serpent</span> <span style="color:#eed000; text-shadow:0px 0px 3px #ffd000;">King</span></span> 04:42, 10 November 2015 (EST)
::::: If that is undesirable, we could keep both types of news in the same section but make sure that it contains at least one news item of each type at all times. —Fenhl 05:09, 10 November 2015 (EST)

Should we add this as news? This is a pretty big discovery, so it's pretty news-worthy in my opinion. Not sure if a new tech really does deserve the news though. F0rZ3r0F0r (talk) 17:19, 1 October 2015 (EDT)

New Direct on November 12
Should it be noted, or, as there is no guarantee any Smash content will be shown, it would be better to report any news after it? --Menshay (talk) 12:02, 10 November 2015 (EST)
:The latter. The only reason we'd note it before it happens is if we had clear proof that Smash would be covered (e.g. Sakurai saying on twitter "there will be Smash news in this Direct" or something to that effect. == Corrin and Bayonetta Release Date Confirmed ==
I went to the official Smash site and saw that the DLC is going to be released on the third of this month. Is this going to be put in the news once it happens or is it going to be thrown in now? I don't care which, but I wanted to point it out to those who are unaware.

What's more confusing about "X announcement and Y results at Tourney Z" than our usual "X game results and Y game results at Tourney Z" format? I don't get where you're coming from here, Nutty. :It's a little weird because it's a game announcement vs. a tournament announcement, which are usually separate. Having to read a tournament-based news point in order to get really important game information is really odd and a little confusing. <small>---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid.</small>  22:53, 1 February 2016 (EST)
::Hence why the combined bullet the way I organized it put the DLC release information first, and the results of the tournament itself second. :::Still. Also, aren't we supposed to keep unrelated points (i.e. tournament results and character release dates) separate?
