He is currently ranked 1st on the [[Michigan Power Rankings#Super Smash Bros. Ultimate|Michigan Ultimate Power Rankings]]. While already being in contention for the title of the best Steve player in the United States after taking first place in singles at both {{Trn|Combo Breaker 2022}} and {{Trn|COST 2022}}, Onin won his first major at {{Trn|Get On My Level 2022}}, making him one of the youngest players to win an ''[[Ultimate]]'' major at just 16 years old, as well as the first North American Steve player to win a major. He then won the supermajor {{Trn|Super Smash Con 2022}} while defeating {{Sm|MkLeo}} in a dominant 3-0 in the first round of top 32.
